BP Before They Get Big Tour Ft. Cassidy Mann

-- More About The Artist --

If you keep asking yourself the “important” questions, you may find yourself in a state of consistent vulnerability. And while that may be scary, it can give you a sense of self-assuredness, especially if you find the answers saying “wait, everything you have is enough.” For Treaty 1-based songwriter Cassidy Mann, this process brought her upcoming album to life. I am running a few minutes late; my previous meeting is running over.

Best of Us is a collection of songs crafted through humble self-reflection and brought to life with the help of trusted friends. Cassidy Mann steps away from the narrow subject of romantic love, expanding into deeper waters: identity, place, belonging, and what it means to find satisfaction in it all.

Recorded with partner Kris Ulrich (Field Guide, Boy Golden, Kris Ulrich) and close friends Charlotte Friesen (Jaywood), Liam Duncan (Boy Golden), Julian Psihogios (Katie Tupper), and Roman Clarke (The Bros. Landreth), the debut single “Double Denim” steps away from Mann’s typical indie-pop synth style into a honky-tonk leaning, rockin’ vibe. Instead of working on the album’s songs part by part with each musician, the group recorded most of the tracks live together in Ulrich’s home studio.

“This album, and the way I think about making music and putting out music now, is so much more community-oriented. I just want to be collaborating and making things with people that I love,” Mann says.
